Experience with fitness: Charith is a former aerospace electrical engineer who decided to turn his passion for fitness and healthy living into a career. The professionalism, ingenuity and attention to detail that defined his work as an engineer also defines his approach to fitness training. He is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Weight Loss Specialist. His work in the gym is known internationally. In his native Sri Lanka, he is known as a “Fitness Guru” and has been featured on the popular TV program “Rise and Shine.” He also writes regularly for the Daily Mirror there.

Although he’s retired from training clients, Charith is very much involved with the day to day operations of the company and making sure the clients are receiving a remarkable personal training experience every single visit!

Training Style: Powerlifting, Olympic lifting, sports performance, and functional movement/mobility make up the core of my programming.

Experience with fitness: I was a late bloomer when it came to fitness and sports. I was a particularly skinny kid and just assumed that would always be the case. Even throughout my term in the military, I never put on any real weight and leaned only on cardiovascular activity as a means of exercise - which I have never been enthusiastic about. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to powerlifting by someone with a similar background to mine, and immediately took to it. A few short years and a whole lot of reps later, I looked and felt like an entirely different person. On a whim, I started playing a sport called Roller Derby. The combination of the two changed my life and my self image in ways I never thought possible. Over the years I’ve traveled to England, Wales, Chile, Argentina, Canada, and all across the US - all in the name of this ridiculous sport that I’ve dedicated so much of myself to. My goal is simple - I want to be the one to inspire others to take that step and build something in themselves that they can be proud of.

One thing you would want clients to know: I absolutely love dispelling the myths of weightlifting. I strongly believe it’s beneficial to just about anyone of any age, gender identity, or background.

Experience with fitness: My experience training consistently in a gym begins when I was on a youth climbing team. I was amazed with the workouts that we did as warmups, mixed in, at the end of our climbing. When I saw that targeted training could result in more power and control on the rock, I knew that training in the gym could help me reach my goals. I went on to climb all of the Washington volcanoes, as well as Mount Hood and Mount Shasta. More recently I have been climbing new ice and rock routes in the mountains, one being featured in the American Alpine Journal, and competing in the Ouray Elite Mixed Competition in Colorado.

One thing you would want clients to know: Moving your body, challenging yourself, and testing limits helps us build the foundation of who we are and gives us a vision of what we can be. When I was a little girl, I discovered a passion for sports, especially soccer. After a couple of years decided to try something new and become a Polynesian Dancer. While I was mastering this beautiful dance, I made a personal goal of starting my own dance studio. With lots of big sacrifices and extra hard work, I was able to accomplish my goal (I was only 19 years old). Unfortunately, 4 years later after the opening of my dance studio, I had to take one of the hardest decisions of my life and close the doors forever. The decision was not easy, but it was the best decision for me at the moment since I became a single mom and needed to take care of my baby. A couple of years later I found myself struggling with self-confidence and stress, so I decided to explore something new and that is when I found weightlifting. In such short time weightlifting become my therapist and stress relief. I started feeling stronger/happier than ever, so I took the decision of becoming a personal trainer to help and inspired the people around me.

My goal as a passionate fitness trainer is to support my clients on each fitness/personal goal they would like to accomplish. Training Style: My training style aligns most closely with bodybuilding. My focus is on building mass and strength while following a push, pull, legs spilt. For cardio I enjoy doing interval training which involves short bursts of high intensity work paired with slow steady rate work.

Experience with fitness: I have played soccer since the age of 5. I played for the Sounders Academy in high-school and then played division 1 soccer at Elon University for my freshman and sophomore year of college. I began to seriously lift once a got to college and gradually became more interested in bodybuilding. I have been fully focused on bodybuilding for the last couple years.

One thing you would want clients to know: Something that I am very good at doing is finding the happy medium between pushing my clients to their limits while still making it an enjoyable experience. By making exercise fun but still challenging I hope to motivate clients to continue to take the next steps towards their goals by taking incremental steps on a daily basis.

Training Style: My training style is mostly centered around bodybuilding, powerlifting, and functional training. I focus on nutrition and a style of training that helps my client best, whether that's supersets and cutting fat, or muscular hypertrophy and building muscle. I can build a plan and substitute exercises to work around injuries on the fly.

Experience with fitness: I have been into fitness for over 18 years, starting when I was a teenager. I have a lot of experience helping people lose weight and with people just getting started learning proper form and building muscle.

One thing you would want clients to know: I love to talk about training styles and nutrition whenever I get the chance. I stay focused on being in top shape myself year round, as well as, keeping clients motivated and shifting their programs constantly to align with their goals and keep the workouts fresh.

Training Style: My training style stems from powerlifting and has evolved into a mix of functional movement and olympic weightlifting. My goal is to help you gain strength while also developing confidence over and under a barbell, while increasing mobility and joint stability as well. For interval training I largely enjoy plyometrics where as much force is generated in as short of a time as possible.

Experience with fitness: Growing up, I ran cross country throughout my K-12 education and eventually advanced to half marathons. I spent as much time as possible dancing swing and house as well, enjoying the energy and physicality of it. I began lifting weights in college and quickly turned my attention to powerlifting, it being the quickest way I could surmise to reach maximum, full body strength. While training at a barbell specific facility I quickly grew to admire the flexibilty and strength displayed by olympic weightlifters, and decided to make the switch in order engage in what I still believe is one of the most difficult, but rewarding styles of athletic training in the world. For me, the gym has always been a place where I could improve my body and temporarily cast aside the turmoils of life and hope that I can help others find the same peace and results I have.

One thing you would want clients to know: I wholeheartedly want to provide my clients with as much support in building their own exercise autonomy as possible. Balancing proper form, desired exertion, nutrition, and programming among other aspects of fitness can be daunting, however, when an approachable yet challenging routine is established the journey to results is enjoyable and rewarding. Working out shouldn't be a slog and who knows, you might even surprise yourself with a shift in goals along the way.

Experience with fitness: Fitness has always been a central part of my life. Growing up in Hawaii, I was surrounded by an active environment that fostered my love for physical activity. From bodysurfing to soccer, I engaged in various sports from a young age. As I entered my formative years, I delved into weightlifting and strength training, starting with calisthenics and gradually advancing to loaded compound lifts. My passion for fitness runs deep, stemming from my mother's influence as a competitive bodybuilder in the bikini division. Her dedication inspired me to pursue a career in personal training and share my knowledge and experience with others. Now based in Seattle, I continue to live an active lifestyle outside of the gym. You'll often find me rock climbing, practicing Jiu Jitsu/Muay Thai, or exploring nature through hiking. Training Style: I am a very foundational trainer and prioritize staple exercises (squats, deadlifts, rows, presses, etc.) that my clients can utilize and build off of for years to come. 

I specialize in bodybuilding and powerlifting, and always incorporate mobility work because it’s crucial for optimal training and preventing injuries. I also like to include some HIIT and circuit workouts to improve cardiovascular endurance. 

Experience with fitness: I am proud to say that I am a dramatic weight loss success story! I joined the gym with about 100lbs to lose, and did just that! Eventually, I started lifting weights and that is how fitness went from something I knew I needed to prioritize for my health, to something I am genuinely passionate about. I always say that weight loss got me into the gym, but lifting keeps me in the gym. I love the art of bodybuilding and the concept of building a body I love living in. I also enjoy powerlifting because it is a great fusion of strength and technique. 

One thing you would want clients to know: I am not someone who has been “fit” or athletic for my entire life. I know exactly what it’s like to start or re-start in fitness feeling like odds are stacked against you… But I also know what it’s like to show up day after day and gradually see all the amazing ways your hard work is paying off. I now love to be the trainer who makes fitness enjoyable and approachable. I believe in the power of consistency and striving to become 1% better each day because I have seen it in my own life. Training Style: My training approach is rooted in functional training with an emphasis on core strength, balance and mobility improvement. Since 2010 I have accumulated experience working with clients on strength and muscle building, senior fitness, athletic performance, weight management, pre/post-natal training and more.

Experience with fitness: I am a Seattle native who grew up playing soccer, baseball, and football. Inspired by my mother I have been in the gym for as long as I can remember. That being said, my principal inspiration for becoming a personal trainer stems from a project I did at Seattle University that focused on the U.S. healthcare system. It is my goal to help clients prevent the many challenging and costly facets of ongoing health issues by playing a roll in their preventative care through exercise.

Training style: I like to start out by helping people develop fundamentals such as exercise timing, stability, ideal rep ranges, and basics of nutrition. From there we can delve further into your goals by targeting particular muscle groups or working towards different specializations uch as strength, endurance, or power. I like to hyper-focus on an individual goal in each session to make the most of it, so it's likely you'll leave the gym very sore in which ever muscle group we decided to train that day, but I'll always give best recommendations around nutrition and supplementation so you can come back and hit it harder in the next session.

Experience with fitness: My experience stems from middle school and high-school sports, my time in the Washington Army National Guard and my time working in the gym as a personal trainer

One thing you want clients to know: Everyone can reach their goals, but with over 600 muscles in the human body we have to be specific with what we chose to do with our time in the gym. Experience with fitness: I competitively swam, sprinted for my highschools track team, ran XC, and did archery all throughout my childhood. Training Style: My training style is based in functional resistance, using the progressive overload principle to achieve strength and muscular endurance. I also integrate plyometric and calisthenic exercises into weightlifting in order to have a well-rounded fitness approach. My yoga background also allows me to incorporate postures and flows into dynamic stretching and active resting.

Experience with fitness: I’ve always been athletic, doing multiple sports all through my academic career, and I fell in love with weightlifting about 3 years ago. Outside of the gym, I teach yoga and dance as well as I am a big hiker.

One thing you would want clients to know: My approach to training is always encouraging a challenge (the mind quits before the body does in weightlifting) but still honoring the body’s ques and knowing when to rest or take it easy. Sustainability leads to progress better than “perfection” will.

Experience with Fitness: Throughout my childhood I was always involved in sports. Despite this, I was always the skinniest kid in the room and as a result I never felt happy about my body image. However, after discovering resistance training at 14, I became fascinated with the process of becoming stronger and changing my body for the better. Since then, I’ve enjoyed transforming my body into something that I can be proud of while also learning the ins and outs of training. Natalie Modlin

Training style:

My training style builds a base from powerlifting, with an emphasis on compound barbell movements that incorporate pushing, pulling, hinging, and squatting. Wherever possible and needed, I include a healthy mix of both functional and athletic movement, incorporating mobility work as well. I also love to include bodybuilding movements in order to build hypertrophy when desired; otherwise, strength and conditioning are my speciality.

Experience with fitness:

I was a competitive swimmer from a very young age, and sports have been an integral part of my life. Growing up, being physically active was so much more than an experience with my body; I found joy and reward from the mental aspect. I then discovered the world of the gym and of barbell strength training, and was enamored with the challenging and rewarding aspect of building raw strength in any way I could! Powerlifting, and the gym in general, became a funnel through which I was able to channel my thoughts and emotions and achieve a definitive outcome from a concrete goal, changing my body in the process, and I loved it. The next goal was helping others achieve the same, while allowing them to build out their own knowledge of fitness

One thing you would clients to know:

My goal with my clients is to not only become a mentor on their fitness journey, but help them to be able to educate themselves, and have a knowledgeable base about anything they want to understand. Balancing all the aspects of fitness while truly understanding them is difficult, but I want my clients to be able to not only change themselves and achieve their goals, but to understand why and how they’re doing it, and to do it safely and effectively. All of this should also, ideally, be something that they find rewarding and fulfilling, and helping my clients achieve their goals while educating them is a true passion of mine.

I have a double major from University of Washington, in Linguistics and Theatre respectively. I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. I have a CPR/AED NASM Certification.

In 2014, I failed at becoming a nurse like my parents always wanted.

In 2020, I trained people in neighborhood parks, backyards, and garages. 0 Virtually.

In 2022, I swerved left into a barrier instead of into oncoming traffic. Walked to my client.

In 2023, I earned ambidexterity after performing a Turkish Get-Up with a 24kg kettlebell.

I tore my left labrum doing the same exercise but finally realized: to fail is to never learn.

Any time that a client has ever given me, I show my appreciation by relentlessly creating an environment conducive to changing lives.
